PG BISON ADDS DU PONT’S CORIAN AND MONTELLI SOLID SURFACING TO ITS RANGE OFFERING

PG Bison and Du Pont have successfully reached an agreement in which PG Bison secured the rights to distribute the well-known ranges of Corian and Montelli solid surfacing. The distribution agreement covers South Africa as well as most other African countries. It comes into effect from August 2014. Du Pont’s interest was piqued when PG Bison approached them with the offer to distribute Corian and Montelli. Du Pont recognised that PG Bison were able to offer the commercial ability and long-term vision to see their brands become as recognisable in South Africa and Africa, as they are in the rest of the world. PG Bison, who manufactures the brands BisonBord, SupaWood and MelaWood, also owns the Formica brand throughout most of Africa. These brands are all household names with strong reputations and are well established in the market. This, together with PG Bison’s continuous investment in new technology, an existing distribution network and access into Africa, made Du Pont’s decision that much easier.

To further increase the effectiveness of the agreement, PG Bison will look to tailor a decorative surface solutions offering for the market. This focused approach will see the Corian and Montelli products offered alongside Formica within the design and specifications segments. Gavin van der Merwe, Commercial Director of PG Bison states, “We are very pleased to have both the Corian and Montelli brands in our range, as this together with Formica, will only strengthen our decorative surface offering.”

Du Pont’s Corian is backed by a 10 year warranty on product and installation provided the material was installed by a Du Pont approved installer.
